MVLA In-seat Summer School sign-ups are coming soon. If you’re needing to catch up on this or last year’s courses, you’ll be assigned to summer school. Get moving in your classwork and 6th periods to avoid summer school from June 10 through July 9, 2026!

That’s right! These students are our top students qualifying for this month’s Alta Reward Trip, and we’ll be heading to Sky High in San Carlos (dodgeball, trampoline park, sponge pits, zip lining)!

Turn in field trip forms ASAP to Miss Debi in the Office - the first 14 students to do so snag the spots (any additional will be on waitlist).

Sixth period assignment lists - students required by teachers to attend particular 6th period assignments this month - are posted in classrooms. Parent/advisor/administrator meetings will be next step if you don’t attend, as 6th period is literally what is getting you on graduation path. Show up for yourself and your goals!

AVHS students are invited to attend the LAHS WInter Formal Dance on January 31, 6-9pm, at LAHS! Pick up a contract in the AVHS Office - this is a first-time-ever opportunity! You do NOT need to be a guest of an LAHS student; you DO need to have had positive behavior this year at AVHS. Also, the dance ticket fee will be scholarshipped by AVHS for Winter Formal Dance (and Mrs. Woolfolk and Ms. Lewis will attend, so you have us there as support if needed, as always).

AVHS 10th & 11th Graders: Are you interested in film, graphic design, music production, or animation?  It’s possible to attend Freestyle Academy for half your day next year - see Mrs. Woolfolk for more information, and plan on checking out Freestyle Academy Open House.

Mrs. Woolfolk directs other alternative programs, such as Freestyle Academy and Foothill Middle College, which are accepting applications from current 10th and 11th graders right now! Are you interested in a tour? Let Mrs. Woolfolk or the Office know if you want to visit Freestyle or Middle College, and are thinking about applying!

MVLA website updates

During the February recess, the new MVLA website hosting platform, SmartSites, will launch. You will notice enhanced features, including upgraded search and accessibility compliance.

The sites will look refreshed and updated but are similar as possible to current sites in order to avoid disruption. Please note that if you have saved links (for example, for AVHS we are at https://avhs.mvla.net), you may need to refresh them with the updated platform.
