Alta Vista Updates - October 16, 2026
AVHS Juniors and Seniors took a field trip to the Coast this week! We visited CSU Monterey Bay to tour the amazing campus, and learn more about the California State University system. We even got to eat in the university restaurant and dining areas, and see a real dorm room where students live on campus!

If you are interested in learning more about transferring to LAHS or MVHS, and the requirements and preparation for that, you need to sign up and attend a 6th period or morning meeting with Mrs. Woolfolk.
We have one more Transfer Prep Meeting (you must attend one to be considered for Spring Transfer): Wednesday, Oct. 21, 8:15-8:55am. Sign up with Miss Debi in the office.
As part of the Mentor Tutor Connection Group Mentoring Program, a handful of AVHS students and their program mentors had the chance to support Gardner Health Services by painting these huge skulls for their upcoming Día de los Muertos themed fundraiser. This project was designed specifically for our group of students and mentors, and all of the materials were provided by Gardner Health Services. We loved having them guest-host this workshop for us and our school logo will be represented on their shirts!
Please consider supporting Gardner Health Services and snap a photo with our students' lovely artwork at the Día de los Muertos 5k Run/Walk on Sat, Oct 31. Participate in the 5k or sign up for an event-support volunteering role; sign up here! Funds raised at this event support Gardner Health Services, which provides affordable medical, dental, and behavioral health care in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties to children and families who need access.

Do you have great attendance? Are you on time and present 90% of classes each week? If so, get ready to be rewarded!
