Aztec Achievement Award Recipient
One weekly award recipient is selected for the honor of Aztec Achievement Award recipient by their school principal and entire Alta Vista faculty. While the qualities of every recipient vary, all demonstrate a positive work ethic, moral character and an appreciation for our community’s diversity.

In the words of our Alta Vista teachers, Gia has been awarded the Aztec Achievement Award for the following outstanding values and characteristics:

(Ms. Estrada) Gia has been on a roll to start out her senior year. She is such a fast worker, who has made great habits in finishing her assignments in a timely manner and taking the initiative to ask for even more work. I can't keep up with her pace but I know her new academic self is on her way to making great progress and accomplishments this senior year. Proud of you Miss Gia!

(Ms. Lewis) Gia, this year you have started off strong.  You are participating in class and in school events.  You have shown a commitment to yourself and want to complete the goals that you have set.  Your work ethic so far this year has been amazing.  Keep up the good work; I know you are going to do great this year.

(Mr. Luy) Gia has shown noticeable improvement in her attendance and is making a positive effort to be present and engaged in PE class. She continues to demonstrate a willingness to participate and improve.

(Mr. Phillips) Gia means business! When she shows up to class, she wants to begin right away. She reads critically, and begins her assignments with the goal of finishing it in a single sitting.

At this point, I’m having a hard time keeping up with her.

(Mr. V) Gia has started the year on fire in her English class. She has had consistent attendance and has met her assignment deadlines. Gia has also been a great contributor to class discussions, resulting in furthering class knowledge and understanding. Keep it up, Gia! Graduation is right around the corner.

Congratulations, Gia, and family! We are very proud of your accomplishments at Alta Vista High School.
