Alta Vista Updates - April 24, 2026
This week, we celebrated "Express your Culture Week," and it was so much fun on campus. Thank you to Leadership students from Alta Vista and Los Altos High Schools and Miss Alba for your dedication!
We have special schedules this coming Tuesday and Wednesday (early release); lunch will be available prior to leaving each of these days. Monday, Thursday and Friday are regular schedules. Enjoy the weekend, but also remember you have time for Health online or another course assignment. We have only (5) weeks left to graduate!

Aztec Achievement Award - Angel Martinez Salgado
April 20, 2026

In the words of our Alta Vista teachers, Angel has been awarded the Aztec Achievement Award for the following outstanding values and characteristics:
(Ms. Estrada) Angel has made tremendous growth in the past several weeks. His attendance is great as is his attitude towards school work. When Angel is present, he is focused and always gets his assignments done in a timely manner. If this is what Angel has been capable of doing just recently, I know great things are in store for him.
(Ms. Lewis) Angel has made such tremendous progress this year. In career explorations, he takes his time with each unit and is truly trying to understand the material, whether it is Electrical, Engine, or Plumbing. In math, Angel has turned it on to high gear and is completing many topics. Angel, keep up the good work.
(Mr. Luy) Angel has shown noticeable improvement in his attendance. When he is present, he consistently puts forth his best effort to complete his work. He is polite and respectful, and he demonstrates a solid understanding of the curriculum.
(Mr. Phillips) Over the last month, Angel has shown consistency and self-discipline. By showing up every day and completing that day’s classwork, he has made incredible progress without stress or drama. This is how it’s done.
(Mr. Stevens) Angel is an excellent student in supervised study. He works bell to bell on his work and rarely wastes time.
(Mr. V) Angel, you have come a long way. You have always been respectful and a great contributor to class. This school year, your attendance has been more consistent, and you have been a self-starter. You enter class, take out work, and you work to complete your assignments. I am proud of the effort you have made this school year. Keep it up!
Congratulations, Angel, and family! We are very proud of your accomplishments at Alta Vista High School!
Please mark your calendars! The Alta Vista Spring Open House is coming Thursday, May 7 (drop in anytime between 5pm & 6pm):
